Hitachi mini excavators make a big difference to Italian rental fleet

More than 100 Zaxis-6 mini excavators will be added to Italian dealer SCAI’s rental fleet next year. The delivery includes models from the entire Hitachi mini excavator range, from ZX10U-6 to ZX65USB-6, and will arrive between January and June 2024.

Premium Rental excavators

SCAI already has a fleet of 600 units, of which 80% are Hitachi Construction Machinery products. Three hundred units are part of the Hitachi Premium Rental scheme, and 95% of these are medium and large excavators.

The new mini excavators will be offered to customers as Premium Rental products with quick coupler and a choice of three buckets. “We believe in providing a high level of service to customers, allowing them to choose which attachment they want when they hire the machine,” says Alessandro Cesaretti, SCAI’s Rental Division Manager.

He believes there is currently significant potential for growth in the Italian rental market. “There is a very important infrastructure plan for the country and plans for maintenance, which will be beneficial for the rental sector,” he explains.

Special application machines

SCAI is one of the few companies in Italy to offer special application machines – such as demolition, super long front, tunnelling, and others – as part of its rental equipment fleet. It can provide short, medium and long-term contracts to general contractors but also large key account customers.
