Operator adds the personal touch to his Hitachi excavator
While the comfort of the cab is crucial to owners and operators, the exterior of machines is becoming increasingly important too. In Sweden, Henric Hartler has added several personal touches to his new ZX135US-7 excavator, including a unique graphic wrap.
A customised excavator
He got the idea from his brother, who customises tractors in a similar way, and is happy with the results: “I found a pattern that turned out really well and an orange colour that is as close to Hitachi orange that I could get. A big advantage is that the next owner can easily remove it if they don't want to keep it.”
The decision to invest in a Hitachi machine was an obvious one for Henric, who is now operating his third ZX135US. “The Zaxis-7 model has a larger cab, better comfort, and is more modern than the previous excavators,” he says. “In addition to this, only Hitachi has machines of this size that are Stage-V compatible, where there is no need for AdBlue, which is nice.”
The machine exterior is not the only customisation that Henric has added. “I have silver MittX frames on the side and on the roof, plus sun filters on the windows that are both stylish and practical.” He also has twin chrome exhaust pipes made by his brother, which have gained him a few comments. “I also have a tiltrotator, a GPS digging system, and a towbar to hook up to a trailer.”
