Why Kloosterman keeps faith with Hitachi
One of the longest-standing Hitachi Construction Machinery customers in The Netherlands, Kloosterman BV, has recently welcomed its first Zaxis-7 excavator to its fleet. Located in Zuidbeveland, the company works on large contracts for the national government to maintain the waterways in the south-west of the country.
Highly versatile machinery
Forty-four years after purchasing its first Hitachi excavator in 1979, a used UH06 followed by an UH07-3 in 1980, Kloosterman has taken delivery of the ZX250LC-7. “We’ve had 40 to 50 Hitachi machines over the years,” says Carlo Kloosterman, fourth-generation owner of the company. “The best ones are the ZX250 because they can be used on small and large projects, and are highly versatile. We have also decided to order our second Zaxis-7 model, a ZX300LC-7, and look forward to its arrival.”
Decades of reliability
Operator Daaf van der Vliet, 65, who has been working with a durable Zaxis-5 model for more than 10 years, is delighted with Kloosterman’s latest investment. The ZX250LC-5 has served the company extremely well, clocking up 15,000 trouble-free hours. Daaf has worked with a range of HCM machines in his time and has been in the industry since 1975. About the ZX250LC-5 he says: “There has hardly been any service on it, and it still runs just like new!”
But the new Zaxis-7 excavator is still a welcome sight. The comfortable cab is much improved, with integrated console and seat suspension, lowest noise levels in the market and 20% less vibration than previous models for smooth operation.
Supplied by Pladdet (HCME’s authorised sub-dealer), according to Kloosterman’s requirements, the new model has also been painted in the company’s distinctive corporate colour, and equipped with additional steps, handrails, overpressure preparation and a Groeneveld central lubrication system. The customer has also fitted a Trimble Earthworks 3D GPS system – taking its new-generation machine to the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.
