FAQs: Hitachi Construction Machinery Premium Rental
Welcome to our FAQ column, where we address some of your most frequently asked questions on selected topics – today, we’ll be discussing the Premium Rental scheme.
How does Premium Rental work?
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) offers a rent-to-rent programme to contractors and businesses that require top-quality construction machinery but are not able to directly buy or invest in their own machines. They do this by renting their equipment to dealers, who in turn rent these models to customers. This is called the Premium Rental programme.
Your local dealer will be able to offer a bespoke rental agreement for the model of your choice (the range includes minis, wheel loaders, excavators and mining equipment) over a set term. During the rental period, the dealer also offers service and maintenance cover as part of the package, ensuring the rented machine continues to operate well. Rental contracts can be made over either a medium-, or long-term basis – with machines available to hire by the month, up to a period of 5 years.
This agreement can help to cover any tenders a business needs to complete, and at the end of the rental term the machine will be returned to the dealer. The model will then either be sent back to HCME or retained for further rentals.
What are the benefits of Hitachi Premium Rental?
The European construction equipment rental market has grown rapidly over the past few years – and Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) has increased its rent-to-rent facilities in line with this growth. This is due to the multitude of advantages that this service offers to contractors and businesses alike.
Flexibility
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many contractors have looked towards new, more efficient ways of working and want to get started quickly on new projects. For those who do not want to invest in or purchase machines and equipment, Hitachi Premium Rental could prove to be a valuable alternative.
Renting allows businesses to take on more contracts and ensure they have the equipment needed to complete multiple tasks. The rental period can be adjusted accordingly (as per demand) and can reduce their financial risk over the long term, allowing contractors to be reactive to fluctuating market demands.
Sustainability and environmental responsibility
Premium Rental is also a great example of using machines efficiently to reduce sector-wide emissions. Rental increases the utilisation rate of each item and works better for longer due to local dealer maintenance activities. Most rental machines are also newer and therefore more technologically advanced – meaning they meet the latest sustainability standards of low fuel consumption and low emissions.
The sharing economy is undoubtedly better for the environment and can help businesses to achieve their own, individual sustainability goals as well as those of their customers. In addition, this promotes a recycled economy and a more efficient use of resources.
Cost-effectiveness
Rent-to-rent is an opportunity to reduce capital risk and output, especially during times of recent economic instability – allowing customers to pay as they earn, instead of before they earn. Rental payment holidays are also available for those who need it. Premium Rental offers consumers more choice and minimises the burden of ownership by reducing outright costs, maintenance fees and risk.
Rental machines are easy to budget for and do not come with any unexpected costs, as the already reliable models on offer are maintained and serviced by a trusted Hitachi Construction Machinery dealer. In addition, short-term contracts allow businesses to address more time-sensitive projects – earning them more money and work. Arguably, Premium Rental could prove to be the solution for economic uncertainty in an ever-evolving industry.
