Hitachi gets the job done

Mónica e Filhos is a family-owned forestry company, located in Ferreira do Zêzere, in the Santarém district of central Portugal. It was established by Joaquim Mónica, who works with his sons, Pedro and Ricardo.

Hitachi gets the job done

The company purchases eucalyptus, pine and other types of wood throughout the country. It offers wood cutting, loading and transportation services to customers such as The Navigator Company (formerly the Portucel Soporcel Group), a leading international name in the pulp and paper industry.

The company has a fleet of seven 21-tonne Hitachi excavators, including three ZX210-6s, two ZX210LC-5s and two ZX210LC-3s. They work daily with different types of attachments, such as hydraulic shears, timber grapples and winches. “Together we make a very experienced team who trust in Hitachi to get the job done,” says Joaquim.

The reason he continues to invest in Hitachi machines is due to the performance of his fleet: “The excavators are undoubtedly high quality, that’s why we keep on buying Hitachi. The service we receive from our local dealer, Moviter, is also very good. We are happy customers!”

First ZX490LCH-7 in Europe delights operator and dealer in Norway

Construction company Dobloug Entreprenør AS has taken delivery of the first Hitachi ZX490LCH-7 large excavator in Europe. The 52-tonne model is the second Zaxis-7 model for the contractor, which already has a ZX350LC-7 medium excavator in its fleet.

Dutch contractor takes delivery of first two Zaxis-7 medium excavators

The first Hitachi Zaxis-7 medium excavators in The Netherlands have been successfully delivered to Grondverzetbedrijf Oosterveld BV (video), based in Bornerbroek in the east of the country. The ZX350LC-7 arrived in May and was followed in September by the ZX250LC-7. Both machines were supplied by Timmerman BV, an authorised sub-dealer of Hitachi Construction Machinery Nederland.

Reliability where it matters most

After more than two decades using Hitachi excavators in their contracting business, Finnish brothers Toivo and Markku Sund have invested in the latest addition to their fleet – a ZX135USL-6. It is used for remote forestry operations in the small town of Hirsjärvi, in the southwest of the country.
