Iconic Hitachi UH063 excavator is up for auction by HCMUK

As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations this year, Hitachi Construction Machinery UK (HCMUK) is holding an auction for an iconic 1985 Hitachi UH063 crawler excavator.

Restored to former glory

HCMUK’s team of Hitachi-trained engineers have brought the UH063 crawler excavator to its former glory with a full restoration and a fresh paint job. It will be on display on the Hitachi stand at Hillhead 2022 for all to see.

The winner of this unique excavator will be announced at Hillhead, and all proceeds will go towards the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, which provides emotional, physical, and financial well-being support to construction workers and their families.

An iconic machine for an important cause

Mark Turnham, National Director of Sales and Marketing at HCMUK, said: “Through this auction, we’re delighted to be able to support such an important charity, one that does so much for those in the construction industry, and to also celebrate one of the world’s most iconic excavators, the Hitachi UH063.”

The UH063 excavator represents one of Hitachi’s many successes in the construction equipment industry, and perfectly captures the reliable and robust machinery that customers know so well.

Bids for the machine will be taken by email on Monday 13th of June, and the winner will be announced at Hillhead on Wednesday 22 June.
