Norway’s first ZX210LC-7 makes a big difference
When it comes to excavators, Hitachi is the only option for loyal Norwegian customer Stensvold Anlegg AS. The company specialises in cable excavation and has recently taken delivery of the country’s first Hitachi ZX210LC-7. Based in Larvik, it is one of the closest customers to the authorised Hitachi dealer in Norway, Nasta, located less than 5km away in Bommestad.
“We think the ZX210 is a very handy machine,” says operator Andreas Stensvold. “It suits us well as we can move it ourselves, and it is also great for the larger jobs we have, such as site excavation.”
The only machines for us
Andreas started at Stensvold Anlegg AS as an apprentice when he was 18 years old. At that time, the company mainly rented out machinery and operators. “Eventually it became quiet on the rental front, and then I finished as an apprentice,” Andreas explains. “Then I had a ZX250 from Nasta, while my father had a ZX290. We eventually sold the two machines and began to specialise in cable excavation.”
Today, the company has two eight-tonne machines, a wheeled excavator and a ZX210-3 from Nasta. There is a big difference between it and the new Zaxis-7 model, says Andreas: “The first thing I noticed [with the -7] was that it is very quiet and calm, it felt like it was idling. The cab has been upgraded a lot, so this is going to be a very good machine for us!”
“When it comes to excavators, Hitachi are the only machines for us. The main reason is that we are so close to Nasta. We think there are many advantages to being a ‘total’ customer and using only Hitachi equipment,” says Andreas.
