Rotator and HCME: sharing success for 40 years
As Finnish construction machinery and equipment dealer Rotator celebrates its 40th anniversary of working with the Hitachi Construction Machinery brand, Marketing Director Janne Salomäki reflects on the company’s success and its partnership with HCME.
Shared values
Having worked for the company for more than 17 years, initially as sales assistant, then product manager and sales manager, Janne has seen first-hand how the cooperation between Rotator and Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has evolved, and the benefits it has brought to customers in Finland.
“Rotator and Hitachi share similar values,” he says. “We want to provide the best possible products and services for our customers, and help them in the development of their businesses.”
Established in 1954, Rotator Oy was the first Finnish dealer to represent Japanese-manufactured excavators and signed its contract with Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd in 1983. It sold its first model, a UH081, in April that year.
Leading mining machine supplier
Today, the company has nine offices, 170 professionals, more than 40 service vehicles, and an expert sales and service organisation. Among its most popular models are medium excavators such as the versatile ZX225USR-7. Rotator has also become one of Finland’s leading suppliers of mining machines, such as EX3600-7 ultra-large excavators and EH3500AC-3 dump trucks.
“The decades of cooperation between HCME and Rotator have been made possible not only by the people behind both companies, but also by excellent customers,” says Janne. “Reliable machines, the best service, and professional contractors have together helped to build an ever better Finland. And long may the story continue!”
