Unveiling Hitachi excavator collision avoidance innovation at Intermat 2024
Get ready for Intermat this April, where HCME is set to showcase the ZX225USLC-7 medium excavator, featuring the advanced Xwatch Leica Geosystems 3D Avoidance System, installed collaboratively at its factory in Amsterdam.
This innovative solution is designed to enhance on-site safety and efficiency, providing crucial protection for people, infrastructure, and the environment. Bill Drougkas, HCME Manager of Product Management & Solution Linkage, says: “By offering solutions such as these to our customers, we can combine the unrivalled control, precision and reliability of Hitachi excavators with the accuracy of 3D technology – helping them to further improve safety and efficiency on site.”
Safety takes centre stage in the design of the ZX225USLC-7, which prioritises optimal visibility for owners and operators. With features like the Aerial Angle camera system offering a 270-degree bird’s-eye view, enhanced front visibility, and improved LED work lights, operator confidence is boosted even in challenging conditions.
Inside the cab, the Zaxis-7 model focuses on operator comfort, with reduced noise levels, wider door opening, and ergonomic design. Efficiency is another highlight, with up to 11% less fuel consumption compared to its predecessor, thanks to Hitachi’s TRIAS III hydraulic system.
Versatility is also key with the ZX225USLC-7 excavator, which is available with different configurations to suit various job site needs. Its ultra-short swing radius and optional dozer blade make it adaptable for different applications.
“We look forward to exhibiting the ZX225USLC-7 medium excavator at Intermat this year, with the additional collision avoidance system developed by Xwatch and Leica Geosystems,” adds Bill. “We are proud to collaborate with other industry leaders to empower owners and operators to optimise on-site performance.”
The ZX225USLC-7 is one of many innovative solutions to be presented at Intermat, stand 6H 039. Like all the Zaxis models on display, it is available through Hitachi Premium Rental and can be purchased using Zaxis Finance – both initiatives will also be promoted at the exhibition, which is held at Paris-Nord Villepinte on 24-27 April.
