What can we expect from 2025? Hitachi experts share their predictions
Moving forward with sustainable solutions
According to Forbes magazine, sustainability is now a “non-negotiable priority” for the construction sector. That’s why manufacturers are focusing on developing emission-free equipment, finding ways to reduce energy consumption and using resources more wisely.
At Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME), we will continue our work in this area, in line with our ongoing commitment to develop solutions to help create zero-emission job sites. We are also continuing our collaboration with industry-leading partners to achieve our sustainability objectives.
According to Product Manager Norihiko Kinugawa, an exciting new chapter begins at Bauma 2025 in April, where seven new models will be unveiled in addition to charging infrastructure solutions: “We will introduce more electric machine concepts, as well as an energy management solution, to our customers. These developments will be the focus for me in the first part of 2025.” Bauma will be held at the exhibition centre in Munich, Germany, from 7 to 13 April.
A focus on remanufacturing quality parts
Delivering more sustainable solutions is not restricted to developing new products, however. It also involves the remanufacturing of parts, which allows for materials to stay in use for longer, and plays an important role in building the circular economy.
As well as being good for the planet, circular solutions must also meet customers’ exacting demands and be cost-effective. Finding ways to satisfy all these needs has HCME’s full attention for 2025.
“There will be a further enhancement of our range to provide our end-users with the high-quality products they expect from Hitachi,” says Sjors van Vugt, Product Manager Aftersales. “This will include a constant review of the parts we offer in the remanufactured range to ensure that our dealers can offer the sustainability for our machines which we all strive for.”
Parts are also the area of expertise for Mark Luijten, HCME Product Support Manager, who believes there will be a greater demand for tiltrotator systems and the attachments used with them. “Quality is our highest priority at Hitachi. We partner exclusively with top-tier suppliers who share our commitment to excellence, ensuring that every component meets the highest standards.”
Digital innovations
Continuing to prove itself as a solution provider in 2025, HCME will maintain its focus on new technologies and digital tools, to help customers work more efficiently and reduce their total cost of ownership. Following the launch of all-in-one fleet management solution Connect last year, it is constantly developing and updating its digital offering, including ConSite Pocket and ConSite Mine Scan. Expect exciting updates to be announced later this year.
Supporting the customer
Regardless of the year, matching customer requirements through comprehensive and reliable after-sales service remains central to HCME’s mission. As ever, that commitment encompasses a holistic approach.
“Our main goal is to provide solutions to support our customers in their various projects,” explains Thibault Le Diffon, Marketing and Communication Manager at Hitachi Construction Machinery France (HCMF). “It means that we will meet all requirements, such as new machines, ICT, rental, used, financing, parts (technical and wear), services and – of course – after-sales.”
André de Boer, HCME General Manager (Rental & Used Equipment) supports this view: “Hitachi not only stands for Reliable Solutions, but also for the right solution for every different need. We continue to build a one-stop-shopping solution for our customers and realise that they want more than just buying a machine.
“The machine must have the right attachments, be serviced in the right way, and at least as important, is the right financial solution. During the entire life cycle of the machine, that is the value chain. And that is what we offer.”
A big year for events and exhibitions
In addition to Bauma, HCME will attend several major events and exhibitions during 2025, starting with Investing in African Mining Indaba from 3 to 6 February in Cape Town, South Africa. The theme is “Future-Proofing African Mining, Today!” and HCME will be present at stand number M28.
Closer to home and later in the year, Evert van den Broek, Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist at HCM Netherlands, is looking forward to showcasing new Hitachi models at TKD (Technische Kontakt Dagen) on 12 to 14 June in Meierijstad, the Netherlands. “We will receive customers with open arms to tell them all about the new machines, but also about all the solutions that we can provide.”
Further opportunities in summer 2025 include the European Rental Association Convention from 4 to 5 June in Dublin, Ireland. September brings the 41st edition of MATEXPO in Kortrijk, Belgium, followed by Plantworx 2025, featuring the UK’s only live demonstration of construction equipment and technology. And in October, HCMF will attend Artibat 2025 at Parc Expo Rennes, to showcase a wide range of machinery and services.
Whatever you have planned for the coming year, we wish our equipment owners and operators a productive and fulfilling 2025, and look forward to meeting you at an event near you.
