What does Hitachi mean to you?

Many of the customers and employees of Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) have been with us for years, even decades – some since the start of HCME 50 years ago! “Since the 1970s, we have used about 30 Hitachi machines and they have all proved to be equally reliable,” says Belgian contractor Wim Ceulemans.

Reliability is a common theme among Hitachi’s loyal supporters in Europe. Norwegian contractor Odd Småge said, “Hitachi are unbelievably reliable,” and technician Danny van Hasselt of Belgian dealer Luyckx said: “The thing I look up to with Hitachi is definitely the reliability of machines and electronics.”

Meanwhile, Pat Gallagher, Chairman of the Gallagher Group in the UK, explained his reason for investing in hundreds of Hitachi models over 30 years: “We buy Hitachi machines because they are very reliable, they’ve got great resale value and the operators love them.”

Controlled quality

The renowned reliability of Hitachi equipment stems from the quality within it as both customers and dealers appreciate. French contractor Jean-Michel Besnier highlighted: “The quality and reliability of Hitachi machines help us to give our customers high satisfaction.”

And Knut Gaarde of Norwegian dealer Nasta agreed: “Hitachi for me is all about quality. They have very good, reliable products that are almost without flaws – they just work!”

Mark Watson of Hitachi Construction Machinery UK said that he is “very proud of the product, it’s very dependable and Hitachi is only going to go from strength to strength,” and Jef Mertens of Luyckx agreed: “Hitachi are a pleasure to work with, and they always strive to deliver better products.”

All of the main components and spare parts, renowned for quality and reliability, are supplied by Hitachi. Furthermore, the modifications are approved by Hitachi’s quality assurance team, and the new model is covered by Hitachi warranty and service programmes.
