June 21, 2023
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) is pleased to announce that in June 2023 Spanish dealer Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria SL (HJM) celebrates 20 years of working with the Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) brand. With shared values and a strong partnership based on empathy and loyalty, the two companies are looking forward to their continued collaboration in the future.
Based in Ponferrada, León, HJM was established in 2003 by Juan Rodriguez Alvarez as the dealer for the north of Spain. In 2014, it became responsible for the whole country and opened an additional offices in Ponferrada, La Coruña , Asturias , Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga.
Spain’s sole trader
Since this development nine years ago, HJM has continued to demonstrate its dedication to HCM customers across Spain, offering high-quality equipment and service excellence. Today, the company has over 150 employees and seven branches, serving a variety of sectors, including construction, public works, environment, forestry and mining.
It complements the range of HCME solutions, such as Premium Rental and Premium Used, with in-house financial services, short and long-term rentals, rent-to-own schemes and buyback offers. “We seek to design a tailored offering for each customer,” says HJM CEO Juan Rodriguez Alvarez.
HJM is also strongly committed to maintenance contracts and value-added service proposals, providing 24-hour assistance when required. The dealer is also proud of its remanufacturing centre: “We facilitate access to low-emission equipment, and give many components a second life, significantly reducing our environmental impact,” says Juan.
Loyal support
Over two decades, HJM and HCME have developed a strong partnership based on empathy and loyalty. “We know that at Hitachi there is always someone willing to listen and help us find a solution to improve and grow together,” explains Juan. During the 2008 financial crisis for example, HCME supported the dealer to overcome a difficult period. “The market fell by more than 90% from one year to the next, nothing was sold. HCME’s support was essential to get out of the crisis and continue to grow together.”
HCME President Takaharu Ikeda offers his congratulations to HJM on its 20th anniversary as dealer: “HJM have proven their commitment to supplying quality machinery and parts throughout Spain, and in expanding Hitachi Construction Machinery’s value chain programmes. We look forward to our continued partnership. Congratulations!”
