Hitachi presents its expanding zero-emission range at Bauma 2025
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) will unveil its largest ever electric excavator line-up at Bauma 2025. In partnership with KTEG, it will showcase a total of nine zero-emission models at stand FN.716, making up almost one third of the manufacturer’s innovative display.
This demonstrates Hitachi’s ongoing commitment to providing solutions for zero-emission job sites and highlights its successful collaboration with industry-leading partners to achieve its ambitions. Four models, from 1.7 to 14 tonnes, are manufactured by Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd (HCM), and the other six machines are developed by KTEG, a joint venture with Kiesel Technology GmbH, which was announced at Bauma 2022.
Making its international debut is the ZX17U-EB with a swappable battery and charger, developed in partnership with Dimaag AI. The ZX55U-6EB and ZX135-7EB will also be displayed, alongside an Alfen NV 422kWh energy storage system and charging unit. An autonomous 14-tonne electric excavator will also be on display.
Among the KTEG solutions appearing on the HCME stand are several firsts for the joint venture: the ZE150W electric wheeled excavator; the ZE300 hydrogen-powered medium excavator; the ZE225 electric medium excavator equipped with a two-piece boom; and the ZE17 cable-powered mini excavator. Completing the impressive line-up is the ZE85, which is equipped with a new battery pack offering increased capacity.
“Our zero-emission solutions at Bauma are in line with the HCM vision to contribute towards creating a safe and sustainable society,” says HCME President Francesco Quaranta. “In addition, we recognise the challenges in the industry to comply with requirements for zero-emission job sites, and we embrace these as an opportunity to collaborate and develop innovative solutions for our customers.”
Bauma 2025 takes place from 7-13 April at Messe München and the HCME stand is FN.716.
