Hitachi Construction Machinery’s Response to the Lifting of the Emergency Declaration in all prefectures, Japan

In response to the Japanese government’s announcement on May 25 that the declaration of a state of emergency had been lifted in all prefectures, the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group will promote operations at our sites in accordance with the guidelines for each prefecture based on the measures newly decided by the government for each region (prefectures with specific warnings, prefectures that are in danger of spreading infection by new coronavirus, and prefectures for observation of infection).
The resumption of normal operations was scheduled to begin on June 1, but with this change, Employees who are currently working from home or tele-working will continue to actively perform their works from home or other.
In order to meet the demand for construction machinery around the world, we continue to operate our plants in Japan while adjusting production.
Work shift system from now on
- We will determine the work policies of employees in each prefecture based on the measures newly designated by the Japanese government for each region (specific warning prefectures, prefectures that are alerted to the spread of infection, and prefectures for observation of infection).
- We promote working from home and tele-working to the extent possible at our head office (Tokyo, Japan) and indirect divisions in Ibaraki Prefecture, where Hitachi Construction Machinery’s main plants are located.
- We prohibit in principle business trips in Japan and overseas, and between offices within the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group, for the time being.
The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group will take appropriate countermeasures in accordance with the infection confirmation and countermeasure plan compiled by new coronavirus countermeasures office and guidance from public health centers and administrative agencies in the event our employee is confirmed to be infected.
We will give top priority to ensure the safety of employees and their families, as well as our customers and other stakeholders.
