This year Hitachi Limited celebrates its hundredth year since founding. From humble beginnings, Hitachi now stands tall as one of the world’s leading researchers and manufacturers of new technology.
Hitachi’s scientific breakthroughs, engineering feats, positive cultural development and global economic expansion have delivered on the dream of founder Namihei Odaira, of a better society for all mankind.
Now employing over 400,000 people worldwide in hundreds of industries, including Consumer Electronics, Medical Technology, Financial Services, Rail Transportation, Power and Industrial Systems and Construction Machinery, Hitachi is ranked in the top five hundred on the Forbes world’s largest companies list.
“Hitachi is aiming to make great leaps forward in various fields. We will continue to breathe new life into the next generation,” writes Hitachi Chairman Takashi Kawamura and President Hiroaki Nakanishi. “We sincerely and respectfully request your ongoing support as well as your confidence and loyalty in the future of Hitachi.”
To celebrate the momentous occasion, Hitachi has created a website to celebrate and reflect on their achievements over the past hundred years and throughout 2010, with particular emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
