24th Kasumigaura Marathon and International Blind Marathon‒HCM Group Cosponsors Again in 2014

The Kasumigaura Marathon and International Blind Marathon was held on April 20, 2014. The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group supports the main theme of the event, the environment and welfare. Hitachi Construction Machinery, which has long been a part of the local community, has been a special sponsor since 2006.

This is the 24th time this mammoth community event was held. There were 27,423 entrants, a record number. The weather conditions were optimal, 9.5° Celsius and overcast. Participating runners ran briskly past the Tsuchiura Works.

This year more than 370 employees, including new employees, worked as volunteers to assist with event operations. Volunteers helped at water stations and loudly cheered the runners on. It was also impressive to watch as volunteers assisted visually‒impaired runners as they reached the finish line.

The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group plans to continue to offer its full corporate support for future events.
