Home nursing care lecture at HCM headquarters

As a part of its diversity promotion initiatives, the Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) Group is promoting work-life balance, which is the management of time spent between work and home. HCM, along with the workers’ labor union, jointly sponsored a lecture which was held on January 26, 2015 (Monday) at HCM head office.

Kaori Kuzuoka from Internet Infinity, Inc. was invited to lecture on how to effectively divide time between work and family nursing care. Ms. Kuzuoka originally worked as a nurse. She gave an easy-to-understand explanation about the details of family nursing care, and the systems, environment, and workplace conditions required to support home nursing care, based on her own first-hand perspective of nursing care. She introduced concrete examples so that people would not run into trouble when it came time for them to take care of a family member. She explained how to create a check sheet to confirm the status of family members and relatives beforehand, where to go for counseling on nursing care for parents, and also on how it was important to know who your parent’s family doctor is.

At the end of the lecture, a representative from the HR department explained HCM’s nursing care support system. Participants listened intently.

This lecture was a good opportunity to recognize that it is necessary to have proper knowledge about nursing care and to make preparations in advance.
