President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra Gave a Speech at the University of Shiga Prefecture　（Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra）

On Monday May 9, 2016 Mr. Murasugi, the President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra gave a speech at the University of Shiga Prefecture. It was titled “A lecture on the top business in the prefecture,” and has been offered as a class aimed at first and second-year students since last year.

The president gave a speech, sprinkled with anecdotes from his youth, on the history of Hitachi and Hitachi Construction Machinery together with an outline of Tierra now. Tierra, which is based in Shiga Prefecture, is actively involved in environmental activities, such as the elimination of introduced fish species from Lake Biwa and collaborations with local NPO Nanohana Project Network. In the Q&A session, questions from the 114 students who took the lecture flowed one after another, the high level of interest in our company could be heard, and made for a lively lecture.

The University of Shiga Prefecture held another exchange event with Tierra on Tuesday January 19, 2016, where communication with the regional university was enhanced, and students could learn about some of the environmental and CSR activities of Tierra.
