Visit to Garag Girls Higher Secondary School near THCM Dharwad plant (Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery)

A visit of female volunteers of Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery (THCM) was arranged primarily to (1)Educate girls regarding their career options (2)Motivate each girl child to be confident and independent (3)Help transform community by encouraging girl students to take challenging careers in future.

On 28th December 2017, our 2 female volunteers namely Priyanka Nargund from Design and Pooja Desai from PPC took some time out to interact with enthusiastic girl students of a Government girl’s school. The major topic of their interaction was importance of girl’s education in our society and the career options available for them. Highlighting various career options and sharing their personal experiences and struggles as a girl were done to encourage these girls to have a bright future. Many other topics like Sanitation, Personal Hygiene, Rote learning etc. were also touched during this interaction.

This effort was widely appreciated by senior faculty members of the school. We propose to arrange such visits more frequently as a part of our volunteering activity
