Hefei City Emergency Response and Disaster Prevention Training held at the Plant (Hitachi Construction Machinery (China))
On June 27th, Hitachi Construction Machinery (China) was selected by the Hefei Economic & Technological Development Area Government to carry out emergency response and disaster prevention training at its plant in Hefei City.
This training was held as part of Hefei Economic & Technological Development Area’s 2018 Safe Production Month. The training involved the scenario of emergency response to workers becoming trapped underground. Members from Hitachi Construction Machinery (China)’s Safety Management Division prepared the training scenario with the help of safety experts and prepared for the training with plenty of practice beforehand.
On the day of the training, four leaders from Hefei Economic & Technological Development Area’s Safe Production Supervision Bureau attended at the plant’s wastewater treatment facility and 32 representatives from companies in the area participated as well. The program involved the step-by-step procedure of risk assessment and kiken yobou (danger prevention) (RKY) prior to the work, measurement of oxygen levels by workers inside the reservoir, rescue of employees in danger, CPR performed by the Health Office, and transport to hospital.
At the end, comments were provided by the Head of the Safe Production Supervision Bureau and safety experts. To wrap up the training, participants shouted the slogan “safety first” in unison. Through this activity, Hitachi Construction Machinery (China) will raise the level of its daily safety management practices and improve its disaster prevention plan.
