“FY2024 Hitachi Construction Machinery Group Positive Social Impact Campaign” to contribute to sustainable environment

In support of World Environment Day on June 5, Hitachi Construction Machinery Group conducted a “FY2024 Hitachi Construction Machinery Group Positive Social Impact Campaign” to bring awareness and positive impact towards a sustainable environment.
It was our second time conducting this employee participation campaign. We carried out activities under the themes of “Combating Climate Change” and “Transforming to Regenerative Economy” which are related to the environment among our priority areas in the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group Social Contribution Policy.
During the month of June, 4,956 employees from 15 companies around the world participated in this initiative by carrying out various activities such as energy saving, waste reduction, greening, cleaning, and etc.
Energy saving: 11 cases
Reducing waste, Resource Reuse/Recycle: 14 cases
Greening, Forest conservation: 14 cases
Cleaning: 5 cases
Others: 17 cases
The theme of World Environment Day 2024 was “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration” focussing on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.
This year's campaign included activities such as planting trees and vegetables, maintaining green area, as well as a unique initiative of conducting a skit about the effects of deforestation and water resource conservation.
Through this campaign, we worked together as one group and took actions to contribute to the sustainable environment.
Under the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group Social Contribution Policy, the Hitachi Construction Machinery Group is deeply aware of the fact that we are part of society, and in addition to participating in the resolution of social issues through business activities we also undertake initiatives to achieve an even better society through social contribution activities.
