Selected as a constituent of the "Dow Jones Sustainability Asia/Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific)" for the sixth consecutive year

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masafumi Senzaki, hereinafter referred to as Hitachi Construction Machinery) has been selected as a constituent of the "Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index*" (hereinafter referred to as DJSI Asia Pacific), a globally representative ESG (environmental, social, and governance) investment index, for the sixth consecutive year since 2019.
The DJSI is an ESG investment index developed in partnership between S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, which evaluates companies' ESG initiatives from the perspectives of the environment, society, governance, and economy, and is composed of companies that are deemed to be particularly outstanding.
The DJSI Asia Pacific covers approximately 600 major companies in the Asia-Pacific region, and 159 companies, including our company (78 of which are Japanese companies), have been selected.
Hitachi Construction Machinery Group identifies materiality (important issues) from both the perspective of social issues and the perspective of the external environment that can lead to the improvement and erosion of our corporate value. We aim to achieve both sustainable improvement of corporate value and the creation of environmental and social value by setting KPIs (key performance indicators) for each identified materiality and managing progress under a sustainability governance system, including the implementation of action plans to achieve them.
