Environmental Management Structure
The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group promotes group-wide environmental activities, such as formulating important environmental policies and measures and planning new initiatives, through an environmental management structure centered on the Sustainability Promotion Group.
Sustainability Promotion Committee is composed of executive officers to discuss and approve ESG-related issues related to management decisions, including responses to environmental issues such as climate change and resource recycling. Furthermore, these important issues are discussed and approved by the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, and are appropriately monitored and supervised.
Environment Promotion Managers Meeting is composed of President of domestic and overseas group companies, General Manager of Business Group to discuss and approve Hitachi Construction Machinery Group’s environmental policy in accordance with the Action Guidelines for Environmental Preservation, management of KPI progress toward maintaining and improving environmental preservation activities, also to share priority measures and requests for cooperation. Furthermore, we have subcommittees to promote and thoroughly implement environmental activities, confirm the progress of planning measures and respond to environmental issues, and make various requests.
Environmental Conservation Action Guidelines
The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group has formulated the "Environmental Conservation Action Guidelines," which serve as the basic policy for environmental activities, and is promoting initiatives.
Global environmental conservation is an important issue shared by all humanity, and Hitachi Construction Machinery Group is working on the actualization of a sustainable society which exists in harmony with the environment as one of the top management priorities, not only following legal regulations, but also taking part in regular disclosure of information and active communication with stakeholders.
