Nijyu-maru Declaration Aims to Protect the Ecosystem and Achieve the Aichi Targets
Hitachi Construction Machinery pledged the Nijyu-maru Declaration as a vow to take action to protect biodiversity.
The Nijyu-maru Declaration entails the registration of activities undertaken to prevent the loss of biodiversity within the parameters of the Nijyu-maru Project that is being promoted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature Japan. The Nijyu-maru Project calls for companies, municipalities, and other entities to declare and register independently implemented activities that focus on the achievement of the Aichi Targets, which were adopted at the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
Hitachi Construction Machinery advocates these initiatives and has registered and declared its aim to fulfill targets 1 and 17, of the 20 Aichi Targets. This action is a first for the construction machinery industry as well as for the Hitachi Group.
Moving forward, as a corporate entity, Hitachi Construction Machinery aims to take the ecosystem into consideration and promote activities that contribute to its preservation.
