History Timeline
In February, Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas held the grand opening ceremony for our new regional headquarters. The campus was repurposed from a wheel loader assembly manufacturing facility that was established in 1987.
In September, Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas attended our first MINExpo exhibiting their Path to Zero, a sustainability initiative in the mining sector.
In November, our electric dump truck, the first ultra-large full battery dump truck at mine site, won an Anthem Award for Responsible Technology.
In March, Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas attended our first CONEXPO since the separation from John Deere.
In March, Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas officially began leading the Hitachi Construction Machinery Inc.’s construction and mining equipment sales and service support efforts in North and Latin America.
Sonosuke Ishii steps into the role of chairman of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas where he leads the expansion of the Hitachi brand.
In August, Hitachi Construction Machinery and John Deere dissolve our 33-year joint venture agreement for the manufacturing and distribution of excavators in North, Central and South America.
In October, the company changed our corporate name from Hitachi Construction Machinery Loaders America to Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas Inc. to reflect its organizational changes and plans for growth.
In November, the company shipped its first hydraulic excavator - a ZX210LC-6 built in Japan - after the John Deere split.
