Hitachi launches new products to enhance production, safety
Hitachi Construction Machinery Africa is expanding its offerings in Southern Africa with the introduction of two new product lines. Hitachi recently launched the Zaxis -7G series and BX100 Shinrai-Power backhoe loader, enhancing its construction machinery range. These innovative products prioritise sustainability, customer-centric solutions, and environmental stewardship, catering to the construction and mining industries.
According to Riaan Carstens, Director of Sales & Marketing, Hitachi Construction Machinery Africa: “We live in an increasingly turbulent economic environment. The Zaxis -7G series is a significant advancement in excavators, built on previous models’ strengths, offering enhanced reliability and durability, ensuring consistent performance under challenging conditions. The model offers enhanced operational efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, enhanced safety features, and easy maintenance, setting a new industry benchmark for top-tier excavation equipment and making it a cost-effective and environmentally conscious choice.
The latest “R-specification” lineup includes ZX490LCR-7G, ZX690LCR-7G, and ZX890LCR-7G for mining and quarrying, and ZX350LC & LCH-7G for challenging construction environments.

Carstens added that the enhancement of the -7G lineup is a strategic move to address the evolving demands of the industry. The Shinrai-Power BX100 backhoe loader is a versatile, efficient, and safe machine from Hitachi Construction Machinery Africa. Its 99HP engine and 8,680kg operating weight make it suitable for various tasks and applications. The name ‘Shinrai’ translates to ‘Reliable, Trustworthy, Capable’. Its name reflects HITACHI’s commitment to meeting construction industry needs.
The BX100, a low-maintenance machine, features a reliable transmission and axles for consistent performance, reducing downtime and operational costs. Its robust hydraulic system boosts digging power and productivity, ensuring efficiency and reliability in various applications, reflecting engineering advancements.
